Open Elections Kenya is a platform that maps, verifies, and protects polling station data across Kenya. We run in three phases: mapping, human verification, and parallel vote tracking. Built on open source principles with blockchain integrity for secure, tamper-proof records.
Open Elections Kenya is politically independent and not affiliated with the Government of Kenya, any political party, or candidate. Our sole purpose is electoral transparency.
Works best on PC or tablet
Creates a full map of all polling stations using IEBC data. We've mapped 26,447 polling stations, with GPS coordinates recorded for 16,396 of them. The platform adapts open mapping systems, adds geographic filters, and supports public data export. Every Kenyan can see where their polling station is located. Works best on PC or tablet.
Allows citizens to upload photos, text descriptions, and GPS points to confirm station locations. 10,051 stations still need GPS verification. A moderation process ensures accuracy and verifies each entry. Your photos and location data help complete Kenya's polling station database.
After IEBC publishes registered voter numbers, the system accepts uploads of official forms 34A, 34B, and 34C. It aggregates results and stores every entry in a tamper-proof blockchain layer. Parallel tallying ensures transparency and protects against manipulation.
